Celebration, Sculpture Square, Singapore, 2000 To mark the new Millennium celebration, Delia has responded to Sculpture Square’s invitation for a solo show with an exhibition based on interpretation and celebration of TIME, expressed trough sculptural language.

Conceived entirely based on the site, a church that is transformed into a gallery space, Delia wanted to emphasize the idea of ritual and “religious” events, as well as to acknowledge the spirit of welcoming the new Millennium and remembering the past and the universality and timelessness of our existence.

For that unique occasion, Delia redeveloped one of her works from the series “A Piece of Sky”, creating a monumental sculpture metaphorically comprising of 2000 stars on a “celestial” blue surface, and another of her perpetual theme, dating back to 1980, the “Blade of Grass”, into a new conceptual installation “A Piece of Land”, of 2000 “grass-like” elements symbolizing regeneration, continuity, growth and hopes for the future.
